Shannon Noll Releases Statement on Drunken Show

March 19, 2008

Shannon Noll ApologisesFormer Australian Idol contestant Shannon Noll has released a statement through his publicist, apologising to fans for his drunken performance at the recent CMC Rocks the Snowys Festival.

Noll said: “It is with great regret that I acknowledge, by my actions during my performance on Saturday night, that I have disappointed my fans, the organisers of CMC Rocks The Snowys, and my band.

“I apologise unreservedly.

“As a result I am taking the necessary steps to ensure that it never happens again.

“There is nothing more important to me than performing live, and I have always prided myself on giving 100% percent to my fans. Last Saturday night I let everybody down and I am sincerely sorry.

“When I begin my national tour in June I look forward to proving to the Australian public why they have been justified in supporting me over the last 4 years.”

Noll stumbled and slurred his way through the performance over the weekend, a far cry from the clean-cut, country boy he portrayed himself as while starring on the hit reality show in 2003.

On fan said of his drunken antics: “He was repeating himself the whole time, he let the f-word go a couple of times and then apologised because there could be kids around.

“He didn’t come across as the nice country guy like you see on TV, he came across as silly and a bit slow.”
