Megan Gale Quits Catwalk

After 15 years spent at the top of the modelling food chain, supermodel Megan Gale has decided to hang up the high heels and call it a day.

Gale, who has spent the last seven years as a brand ambassador for retail giant David Jones, has given up her lucrative catwalk career in favour of the movie industry.

“It has been at the back of my mind for a couple of years,” said the 32-year-old model.

“Even though I still enjoy it and I love it, I kind of decided that it is inevitable — I just have to step off at some point.

“Rather step off while you are on a high and everything is good, where I am in a good place with it, rather than flogging a dead horse, still up there, close to 40 and people asking why I am still doing it.”

With her resignation from the fashion world, Gale has confirmed to the media that she will be playing Wonder Woman in the upcoming comic book adaptation, Justice League of America.

“I still can’t believe it,” she said. “I have been infatuated with Wonder Woman since I was a teenager.”

While Gale’s role as brand ambassador for David Jones will continue for some time, her final catwalk for the label will take place in Melbourne on February 27.

“It is very emotional for me,” Gale said.

“Catwalk is the first thing I ever did and probably the aspect I enjoy the most, but I think there is a time when you have to bite the bullet and step away from it and in my gut it feels like now is the right time. There will be tears, though.”
