Kristy Hinze’s Billionaire Love
March 25, 2008
Australian model Kristy Hinze has broken her silence on her relationship with Texan billionaire Jim Clark, telling the Australian Woman’s Weekly that she was instantly attracted to the 63-year-old’s intelligence.
Hinze, who turns 28 in October, has been dating the founder of internet giant Netscape for the past two-and-a-half years, and admits that she’d never thought she would be attracted to an older man.
“I never thought I was going to date an older man when I first met him,” said Hinze.
“To me, it was different to hang out with someone with something to say that was so interesting and important and who was truly, incredibly intelligent.
“He’s handsome and has so much charisma - and he’s so funny.”
Clark was previously married to Forbes magazine reporter Nancy Rutter, one of three of his former wives. At the beginning of his courtship with Hinze, he and Rutter were still going through their divorce proceedings.
Despite being worth an estimated A$1.2 billion, and the owner of the world’s largest private yacht, Hinze said that Clark is one of the most wonderful, normal men she has ever met.
“He’s very normal and down to earth,” she said.
“He’s an incredible man and I just love him.”
Hinze’s latest project will see her spend some time apart from her billionaire beau, when she takes up the hosting duties for the Australian version of Project Runway (made famous by international model Heidi Klum). The local series of the hit reality show begins filming for Foxtel next month.
