Forscutt Warns Against Plastic Surgery

March 31, 2008

Krystal Forscutt Opens Up About Plastic SurgeryKrystal Forscutt, a former Big Brother contestant who famously had breast implants at the age of 19, has given an emotional interview to Nine’s A Current Affair, warning young girls to steer clear of the risky surgery.

Forscutt sought out A Current Affair for the interview, feeling the need to defend herself after a story on popular news site ninemsn.com claimed that teenagers were “flocking” to plastic surgeons for “trashy Krystal-style breasts.”Â

The reality television star and promotional model said that she never wanted to become a plastic surgery role model for young girls, and was quite distressed that she was being labeled as one by the media.

“If anything I try to deter people from getting surgery, especially if it’s for the wrong reasons,” Forscutt said.

“I think it’s scary that people would see me as a role model… when I never intended to encourage anyone in any way.”

During her stint on the 2006 series of popular reality show Big Brother, Krystal raved about her implants (which she had put in at the same time as her mother, Karen), and at one point admitted that she’d wanted them since she was 16, but was told she had to wait a few years.

However, Krystal doesn’t speak so highly of them anymore, and thinks herself fortunate that she’s escaped any of the serious problems that can occur from the costly procedure.

“It is quite frightening the things that can happen,” Forscutt said.

“I think I’m very fortunate that I haven’t had any problems as of yet, but you don’t know further on down the track.

“I think a lot of people think it’s an in-and-out procedure… [but] there might be other procedures that will follow and if something goes wrong you are going to have those scars for the rest of your life.”

Krystal’s full interview will air on A Current Affair on the Nine Network tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Girls like Krystal are the reason why teenage girls feel pressure to get ‘fake boobs’. When boys look at photos of her they think thats how girls or women should look and it puts so much pressure on young girls. It is a majour source of discomfort and low self esteem within teenage girls.

Got something to say?
