Final Week of Filming For McLeod’s

March 19, 2008

McLeod’s Daughters Begins Final Week of FilmingOne of Australia’s longest running dramas is coming to a close, with the last week of filming for Channel 9’s hit series, McLeod’s Daughters, beginning in South Australia on Monday.

After eight drama and dust-filled series’, the country show will be saying goodbye to fans for the last time, something that hasn’t come easy for the cast and crew.

A heat wave that has taken hold of South Australia and Victoria over the past month has been testing everyone’s patience on the Gawler set of the hit show, and star Doris Younane admits that the added heat hasn’t helped to quell the pressures that come with the final week of filming.

One aspect of the production that has been down-sized due to the intense heat has been the make-up trailers. An insider on set has revealed that with the extra heat and dust, no make-up is needed to give the show’s stars their sexy, sweaty look — it’s all real!

“The hot, dusty and sweaty look usually created by make-up artists is all real at the moment in this heat,” the insider said.

For this eighth and final season, many of Drover’s Run’s original residents will return. The show will air on Channel 9 later this year.
