Dance Evictee Dreams of Recording Contract
April 17, 2008
Graeme Issako, the 18-year-old jazz dancer from Sydney who was eliminated from So You Think You Can Dance on Monday evening, has revealed that he hopes to obtain a recording contract from his stint on the hit reality show.
Issako, who made it to the Top 100 of Australian Idol a few years ago, says that he’s had a few promising offers for record deals. He added that his dream of one day recording an R & B album is now closer than ever before.
“There’s heaps of good signs,” Issako said.
“I’ve met people in the industry because of the comp.
“It’s just about networking.”
If the offers he’s had don’t work out, however, Issako said he would not audition again for Australian Idol, because he doesn’t want to be a “reality TV whore.”
“It’s just like going for a job in a cafe, there’s millions of cafes out there, so there’s millions of ways to get a recording contract,” he said.
