Clarke’s Surprise Engagement Party For Bingle

Michael Clarke, the future captain of the Australian Cricket Team, has reportedly planned a surprise engagement party for his new fiancee, Lara Bingle, to be held at Sydney’s Luna Park next month.

After a shock proposal earlier in the week during a holiday in New York City, Pup has organised a huge celebration for Lara and her family, inviting 300 of their closest friends to the extravaganza.   Â

The cocktail party, which is said to be Clarke’s gift to his new bride-to-be and her family, will take place at Luna Park on April 4.

Accoring to a source, news of both the engagement and the party haven’t come as a surprise to most of the attending guests, who have known of Clarke’s secret plans well before he and Lara even jetted off to America.

Clarke’s manager, Chris White, said of the engagement: “When I spoke to Clarkey, he was the happiest man in Babylon.

“He said they were having a great time [in New York], that it was freezing and that Lara was shopping up a storm.”

Yesterday, Lara’s mother Sharon gushed to the press, “We’re all very happy about it - Michael is a lovely and romantic man.”
