Aussies Most Overpaid Celebrities

Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe have topped the list of the most overpaid celebrities.
Forbes has calculated a formula based on how much money a movie returned to what the star was paid. On this formula, Russell Crowe is the most overpaid celebrity. For every dollar he was paid for movies like Master & Commander and Cinderella Man, the films earned $5.
Kidman reportedly earned $15 million for her latest film, The Golden Compass, which has been labeled the turkey of 2007. It cost nearly $200 million to make, yet returned only $26 million in its US weekend debut.
This is Kidman’s fourth big box office dud. For every dollar she was paid for her last three films (excluding Compass and Margot at the Wedding), her flicks returned only $8 on average to the studios.
In comparison, Angelia Jolie, earns $10 million per picture, but returns $15 on average.

Well, my feelings about Russel Crowe are a matter of public record, lol. As for Nicole… *drools on shirt while daydreaming* Oh! Anyway, she’s not all bad. She just has made some bad movie choices.
That stupid compass thing was bound to fail - most book to movie transfers are abysmal (the first Jaws of course a notable exception along with Harry Ponce - uh, I mean Potter) and Compass should never have been a best selling book in the first place if not for the totally convoluted and biased publishing industry within the US and Britain - they’ll print any piece of trash as long as it’s politically correct and not written by a ‘neandertal’. PLUS, screenwriters go at the process of turning a book into a movie totally wrong, IMHO.
