Asus Eee PC
November 28, 2007
ASUS’ new low cost Eee PC will be available in Australia just before Christmas in early December, after going on sale in the US at the start of November.
The Eee PC has a recommended retail price of $499.
The Eee PC is extremely compact, weighing less then one kilogram. Instead of a hard drive it uses flash memory for long term storage.
There are several different configurations avaiable in the US, but no word on the options for Australia at this time. It comes with an Asus developed Linux OS based upon Xandros Linux; however ASUS will also offer versions running Windows XP and Vista by the time it arrives in Australia.
The Asus Eee PC comes with 40 pre-installed applications, each one sticking to the principal of being useful and easy to use.
The Eee PC certainly looks like something that could be a very nice stocking filler.
